Virtual Key Ring Project

EUSD has completed our proof of concept and pilot testing phase of the Virtual Key Ring software.  The goal of this plan was to enable students and staff to use a single sign-on to enter all district digital curriculum software programs.  The tool was also designed to provide greater protection for student and staff data.  Because the district uses a variety of software programs, with some cloud based and some server based, we were aware that this was not going to be an easy task.  After reviewing progress with the vendor, we determined that they were not able to ensure that all of our identified software programs were accessible through the Virtual Key Ring product.  Based upon this, we have decided to conclude the pilot and request our initial payment back as specified in the contract.  The district will continue to look for products that can accomplish our goals of easier access and greater security in the future.

California Green Ribbon Schools Award!

Thank you for visiting the Encinitas Union School District (EUSD) web site.  Founded in 1883, the EUSD is located in beautiful north coastal San Diego County and serves the communities of Encinitas, Leucadia, Olivenhain and the Rancho La Costa area of south Carlsbad.  The district's enrollment of approximately 5,400 students is housed in nine kindergarten - sixth grade schools and includes a special education pre-school program.  The district has a long standing tradition of high student achievement and is acknowledged for its innovative learning opportunities.  All nine schools have been recognized as California Distinguished Schools by the California Department of Education and four have been named National Blue Ribbon Schools by the U. S. Department of Education.  EUSD is proud of our students' academic achievement, appreciative of our families' involvement in our schools and grateful for the generous support from the communities that we serve.
