‚ÄčCalifornia Healthy Kids Survey

The California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS) is one that is required every two years in California. The survey is put together by WestEd, a nonprofit public research and development agency, for the California Department of Education. The survey is given in grades 5 - 12 (EUSD administers to 5th grade) and helps schools and school districts accurately identify areas of student and school strengths and weakness related to quality of health, prevention and youth development. At the heart of the CHKS is a broad range of key learning and health related indicators that are used to collect student data on attitudes, behaviors and experiences related to school and learning. School connectedness, developmental supports and opportunities, safety, violence and harassment, substance abuse, and physical and mental health are some of the key areas assessed by the survey. Fifth grade students will complete the survey online begining February 8, 2016. The survey takes approximately 40 - 60 minutes to complete. Parent permission slips to take the survey will be sent home prior to the survey. To preview the survey, click on the link below:
